‘O’u’s were lovely fruit n’ insect chomping wonders that lived amongst 6 of the 8 Hawaiian islands. The males wore a lovely golden crown, used within featherwork for Hawaiian royalty. Unfortunately another casualty of invasive species (cats, mongoose, rats) which preyed on them and their eggs. The last one was observed in 1989.
